When you are heading for Sicily by car or train the city Messina is your arrival point in Sicily for the ferry. Messina is the main city in the province also called Messina. The trip by ferry takes around 30 minutes.

Giardini-Naxos is a little town with 9000 inhabitants located 40 km (25 miles) south of Messina. The living of this town is based on tourists and you find magnificent hotels, restaurants and bars everywhere. Besides, there is the most lovely beach just a few steps from the main street. A super place for a relaxing holiday!

Taormina, a little town sited 700 m (2185 feet) o.s.l. next to the sea by the foot of the mountain Tauro which has named the town. Taormina is placed a few miles north of Giardini-Naxos and was also back in ancient times a holiday resort. Back then it was the cataniens pampering themselves in the beautiful town and since, especially after the 2nd World war, it has been an attraction for tourists worldwide. The German poet, Goethe, and the English writer, D.H.Lawrence, both of them fell in love with Taormina and Lawrence lived there from 1920 to 1923.
From Taormina there is no direct access to the sea but down the cliffs there are lovely beaches along the Ionien sea.
